Poultry Slaughter Equipment Cleaners

125834208_xlBy nature, poultry processing is going to be more unsanitary than one would like, but it is important to make sure that all of the equipment used in the process is clean, and ready to deal with the next slaughter. The USDA has set forth a number of important standards that apply to virtually any situation in any meat packing facility. These policies demand that any source of product contamination or adulteration are removed from the area or outright prevented.

This includes anything that originated from the facility itself. This includes objectionable odors, smoke, flying ash, and a number of other contaminants. This also includes those coming from neighboring industries which might be difficult to stop but still absolutely necessary. That being the case, having the right cleaning equipment on hand becomes more than essential for a few reasons.

First of all, poultry is a very sensitive food item and it can become easily contaminated. This can happen easily as a result of debris or microorganisms on the belt as well as in other equipment throughout your factory. Cleaning your belts is absolutely essential, as you will quickly discover, mostly due to the very nature of the work you are doing. One of the problems with the meat industry is that it tends to generate extremely high levels of organic waste, generally chicken by-products that attract their own bacteria.

As always these items should be removed, but it should also be considered that they will leave their own harmful bacteria behind. For this reason, it becomes more than necessary to continually clean on a regular basis. Remember, this is not like cleaning a typical factory – you are dealing with a product that will be consumed by millions, and could ultimately create an epidemic if the meat is not handled properly. That being said, you need state of the art equipment capable of cleaning your processing equipment, and you need to set up a proper schedule for cleaning said items. If you do not handle the cleaning properly, then the entirety of your business could very well be at stake.

Get a Machine for the Dirty Jobs

There are a lot of jobs to be done – dirty jobs in particular, the slaughter room being just one great example. This is the room that has the most potential for contamination and when we say ‘the most’ we mean a complete certainty. You will find that this area is stocked full of flapping, agitated birds that generate feces and have likely been contaminated the room since they arrived. Insects, carcasses, and all sorts of biological contaminants are flooding the room, and this is where the best pressure washers will come in handy. You need a machine that is superior, and one that can stand up to the mess.

When it comes to pressure washers, the best one for the job is typically the one that features a high powered heating system. In order to kill bacteria you need to reach temperatures in excess of two hundred degrees Fahrenheit, and most typical commercial power washers are only going to emit cold water, which is unacceptable for your purposes. That being the case, you need to make sure that you have the situation in hand by purchasing industry specific equipment. There are plenty of pressure washers designed specifically for the sanitization of meat packaging and processing plants and having them on hand will help to ensure that you are in compliance with local law as well as USDA regulations.

Parts of the Whole

There are several different parts to consider when you are cleaning your facility which include:

  • Knives
  • Trolleys
  • Conveyor Belts
  • Basins
  • Etc

Also consider that many of the machines located in your facility will not be the easiest to access simply because of cramped passageways or interesting design choices. A pressure washer is without a doubt the route you want to take here, and it can use heated water to easily kill bacteria or other living organisms that have settled along the surface of your equipment.

As with any other purchase, you want to make sure that you choose the best, which in this case is going to be Daimer – an undisputed industry leader in industry-specific cleaning systems. Make sure you take a look at the product line so that you can keep YOUR product line running properly with little to no incident. It won’t be long before your facility is sparking and free of contamination.
